DURAN DURAN BUYS ELECTRIC MINDS: Eighties Rock Band Turned Corporate Titan Plans Additional Acquisitions This Year As It Expands Empire

SAN HELIFINO, CA /DenounceNewswire/ -- July 15, 1997 -- Duran Duran, a once-popular rock'n'roll band from England, whose hits topped the charts in the 1980's, has re-emerged as a corporate giant in the late 1990's, with plans to buy "everything in sight," says Colin Tuffnel (brother of famed guitarist Nigel Tuffnel of the band Spinal Tap).

As Duran Duran Corporation, the band today announced the acquisition of Electric Minds, an online gathering place for thousands of Internet wannabes, many of whom are well-known for their delusions of "community" tinged with nostalgia for the innocent sixties heydays.

"An impressive acquisition that demonstrates these guys are hungry like the wolf," said Indu Strypundit, an industry pundit.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Duran Duran Corporation, Electric Minds will continue to serve as a meeting place for thousands of Internet wannabes, many of whom will continue to be well-known for their delusions of "community" tinged with nostalgia for the innocent sixties heydays.

"We didn't know what we were doing, businesswise," admits Hubert Rheinkopf, chairman and founder of the way new online community. "We set out to have fun at others' expense. I'd say we were a tremendous success!"

Mr. Rheinkopf, a wearer of strange shoes and colourful clothes, will continue in his role as Chief Mind of the new subsidiary.
