Lindows Changes Name to Michaelsoft

San Diego, CA /DenounceNewswire/ -- 6 April 2004 -- Beleagured Lindows, Inc., the Linux desktop software company sued by Microsoft over alleged trademark infringement due to similarity to Microsoft's "Windows" name, announced today that it is changing the company's name to "Michaelsoft" effective immediately.

"Last week Judge Coughenour denied our request to block Microsoft's international legal barrage against," said Michael Robertson, beleagured founder and CEO of the beleagured company. "To assure that we can do business globally, we have selected a different name for our web presence and product name. I believe it's the only way to respond to an onslaught from such a rich company, since we need to be able to continue to grow our business."

Indu Strypundit, an industry pundit, was quick to point out that the newly chosen alternate name may face a whole new wave of lawsuits from Microsoft.

When asked about this possibility, Robertson responded, "Bring it on."

Lindows Announces Release of DVD Player for Lindows

Features include Play, Stop, Eject, and Quit

The Lindows DVD player can be purchased on the website, using the Click-N-Run service. Alternatively, users may download and install Xine, Mplayer, Ogle, or other Linux applications for free, but then they don't get the enjoyment of knowing they are contributing to the expansion of Robertson's company.

Click-N-Run members, called Insiders, are entitled to purchase any software in the Lindows Click-N-Run Warehouse, currently offering access to more than 1,500 software applications. Non-members, known as Outsiders, are monitored closely and extremely encouraged to become members.
